The VP Finance is a critical leadership and advisory role to the Senior Leadership Team. Reporting to the CFO, the VP Finance will be responsible for ensuring the finance function provides vision, leadership and strategic direction to the Canadian business leaders, and will be a critical role to driving the continued highly profitable growth of the organization. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and will actively lead, participate in, and facilitate the company’s efforts to, improve shareholder value and employee engagement. The VP Finance will manage the Finance function supported by a team of 6 direct reports.
Key to success in this role will be the VP Finances’s ability to quickly establish creditability at all levels by building rapport and buy in for the Finance function across the organization, and in particular with the Senior Leadership Team. Works to achieve optimal financial performance that align with corporate objectives. Reports, on a timely basis, any deviations or risks that occur on the expected outcomes. Optimizes operations processes to ensure an appropriate balance between efficiency, cost, quality and service. Identifies activities that achieve new revenue growth for the company and continuous improvement activities to derive greater operating efficiency and profit margins. Uses business analytics, identifies opportunities to improve revenues, reduce expenses and increase margins. Researchers competitor practices and industry benchmarks to determine whether any changes to service and pricing are required. The VP Finance will develop Financial objectives, policies and programs for the organization and create financial systems and best practices that support efficient operations.
